Stanley "Guy" Jones Jr.

With heavy hearts and an abundance of love, we announce the passing of our beloved Stanley “Guy” Jones, who departed this life on August 18, 2026, at the age of 66. Guy was a loving father, grandfather, brother, relative, and friend. He was a man with a caring and gentle spirit who truly loved people. His warmth, kindness, and ability to bring a smile to the faces of others made him loved and appreciated by so many who had the pleasure of knowing him. His Journey Guy began his education at Most Holy Trinity Elementary School and later attended Fort Hamilton High School. He continued his studies at Bronx Community College and further pursued his education at Northern Manhattan Nursing School. His passion for helping and caring for others led him into the medical field, where his compassionate nature truly shined. Guy worked with hospice patients at Holy Rosary Nursing Home, providing comfort, companionship, and peace to residents during some of their most difficult moments. He had a special way of putting smiles on their faces and helping them forget their worries, even if only for a little while. Later in his career, Guy worked as a Registered Nurse at Woodhull Hospital, where he continued doing what came naturally to him—taking excellent and gentle care of his patients. His compassion extended far beyond his profession. It was simply a part of who he was. Guy also worked as a messenger, a job that went perfectly with one of his greatest passions—riding his bike. He loved traveling throughout the boroughs on his bicycle and meeting people from all walks of life along the way. A Life Lived to the Fullest Guy truly enjoyed life. He loved traveling, bike riding, outdoor concerts in the parks, and Harlem Week. He enjoyed spending time playing chess, spades, and dominoes, especially when surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed the simple things that brought people together—good music, good conversation, laughter, friendly competition, and creating memories with the people he loved. Above everything else, Guy loved his family with everything in him. He was a loving father to his son, Stanley, and daughter, Samantha, and a proud and loving grandfather. The love, lessons, laughter, and memories he shared with them will forever be a part of their lives. Guy also shared a special bond with his sisters, Theresa, Rachel, and Thomasina, and his brother, Darrell. Through life's celebrations, challenges, laughter, and tears, family remained at the center of his heart. Guy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Stanley and Mary Jones, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he became. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Stanley; daughter, Samantha; granddaughter; sisters, Theresa, Rachel, and Thomasina; brother, Darrell; and a host of relatives, friends, former coworkers, patients, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness and caring spirit. As we say goodbye to Guy, our hearts are filled with sadness, but they are also filled with gratitude. We are grateful for every conversation, every laugh, every bike ride, every family gathering, every game of chess, spades, or dominoes, and every special moment we were blessed to share with him. There will be days when we wish we could hear his voice one more time, see his smile, share another laugh, or simply spend another moment together. But while Guy is no longer with us physically, his love remains. It lives through his children. It lives through his granddaughter. It lives through his sisters and brother. It lives through the countless people he cared for. And it lives in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. Stanley “Guy” Jones loved people, loved his family, and loved life to the fullest. Guy, you were loved in life, you are loved in death, and you will remain forever in our hearts. Rest peacefully, Guy. Your journey here may be complete, but your love, your memories, and your story will continue through all of us.
