Linda L. Thomas

July 26, 1949 - October 25, 2016

Linda L. Thomas was born on July 26, 1949in Richmond, Virginia to the late Junious and Vela Walker. She peacefully returned to God’s loving arms on October 25, 2016 at Prospect Heights Care Center of Hackensack, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was educated in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. She resided in Passaic, New Jersey for over forty-eight years. She was a Hostess for the Mountainside Inn of Clifton, NJ for about nineteen years, and formerly worked for Print & Peel of Paterson. Linda loved to cook for her family, she liked watching game shows especially “Wheel of Fortune”, traveling to Atlantic City with her friends and spoiling her grandchildren and hoping to win the lottery with her scratch offs. She leaves to mourn and cherish her loving memories: her lifetime partner Herman Smallwood, her children Corey V. Smallwood, and Lawanda Smallwood-Cross, one son in law Anthony Cross, one daughter in law Carol Earle, one step daughter Michelle Smallwood, two step sons Sherman and Eric Smallwood also four grandsons, five granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, four sisters Iris Evans, Elaine Willis, Marion Vaughan and Vandora Walker, twenty-eight nieces and nephews, a host of friends and neighbors. Linda was preceded in “Passing” by her son Wilson DeCosta Thomas, Jr. also her sisters Mary Ann Allen & Jean Walker Clayton, and one brother Cody Walker.
