Ida Barnes “GiGI” 85 formerly of Passaic returned to God's loving arms on January 31, 2015. Born to the late John Hicks and Jessie Mae Milsap on August 19, 1929 in Taylorsville, Mississippi, Mrs. Barnes attended the Mississippi school system then relocated to New Orleans for one year , to Las Vegas, Nevada for three years she moved again to Brooklyn, NY residing there for approx twenty years . In 1976 she decided to move to Passaic, New Jersey residing here for more than thirty years, she later became a resident of Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wayne, NJ and lived there until God called her home. She worked as a seamstress for many years. She was a faithful member of The Union Baptist Church of Passaic, NJ under Rev. Dr. Ronald w. Johnson where she was a member of the Missionaries, Senior Choir, an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, advisor for the Youth Dept. and Pastors Aid. She was Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Lily of The Valley Chapter 350 of Passaic Mrs. Barnes loved to sew, cook, spend time with her family and friends she was a very happy and Godly person. Her memory will be cherished by Her Daughter Kathleen Barnes of Brooklyn, NY; 2 Brothers C.L. Crosby of Summerland Miss. And Bobby Jo Hicks of Allentown, PA,, 3 Sisters Corrine Carson of Jackson, Miss, Kissia Graves & Annie Ruth Roan both of Taylorsville, Miss 3 Grand Children Albert Major, Linnette Grant & Tyrick Major all of Brooklyn, NY; 3 Great Grand Children DeSean Major, Jakeeva Major & Omari Simmons all of Brooklyn, NY; 2 Great Great Grands Janae Major & Meleah Street both of Brooklyn, NY.
