MTV OF N. Y. FILMS FUNERAL EPISODE AT THE MADONNA FUNERAL
HOME IN N. J.
On October 12th MTV studios of N. Y. contacted my Funeral Home about
filming an episode about a funeral. They said they chose the funeral home
after seeing my chapels online while searching for places to shoot. I was
contacted by Jamie in the office of the parent company VIACOM and asked to
arrange my schedule so that the funeral home would be completely free on October
15 th from 7-11:00 PM.
A few pre-inspections were made by the site managers, and production crew
,lots of pictures were taken of the place (even of my dog Suleyman) and 3 days
later 45 crew members showed up on the 15th and began shooting. It was for a 4
minute skit for a extremely popular comedy series called the "Human Giant"
staring their actors "Aziz " and Paul Scheer , Its a sketch comedy show that is
a collection of fast paced, hard hitting short films which tend to take satire

I was absolutely guaranteed that no names or identifying signs would be
included in the episode.
With the rolling cameras set up and ready to go, they came to the
conclusion that the funeral home lighting was to dim for shooting, so they
dismantled my chapel , so they could use their own track lighting, and assembled
their actors and extras in about 20 of the funeral home chairs .
I was hopeful that I would be an extra again in another film (this time
on T. V! .) but my hopes were dashed when they told my staff and I the cast was
for males only. ummmm. We were only allowed to sit very quietly on the side
lines and watch. However look for my employee Reynaldo Morrera in the back row
on the end, in the New season that airs sometime Jan-March 2008.
So after about 10 or more takes and by 11:00 PM as promised they packed up
their lights, crews, actors and gear, returned all my lamps and chairs to their
original place, paid me and thanked me and everyone gabbed up their map quest
directions back to Manhattan.
